Winning Wieners! is a page telling about the progress of our kennel into the AKC and International Dog Show world. This is a new venture, one that I never dreamt would happen, but am having a lot of fun and proud of our dachshunds that have been shown thus far. My precious friend, Ann Ryburn, is currently doing all the showing on her own and I so appreciate her for doing so! Thanks Ann! I will be updating as we go from one show to the next. This will be a long process as we have to save up to go to each show. It isn't cheap to get a champion finished in your kennel! Immediately below are pictures in no particular order from shows Ann has taken bull-mastiffs and dachshunds to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Below are some of our future and present Show Puppies, all sons of Paco.
Pistol Pete
Dallas, Boys at play, Hopalong "Cash"iday ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Houston Specialty was fun with Paco even though he didn't feel well. He did his utmost and showed to a 2nd place ribbon. Fri., our little man felt great and got a Second in his group plus won Best in Show in the Sweepstakes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ June 28-29, 2008, Paco got a Group 1 in one of the 4 shows he was in. Petey got 2 Group 3 wins and and a Group 2 win. He is only 4 months old! We are so proud of these boys! Again, Ann is to be given credit for her training and showing abilities! We are delighted to have her as a very dear friend! Linda has fun as our own private photographer and does a great job, too!
We did pretty well at the Texarkana show. Paco got his 5th point and Tootie, Ann's bullmastiff got another point, too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hip Hip Hoorah! Paco made a clean sweep at the AKC Dog Show in Bossier City, LA, April 18, 19, 20 & 21, winning all 4 days and getting a point each day. Thank you, Ann, for doing such a super job of showing our boy. Duke showed very well and got his first points with AKC! He is a natural! Heather, Ann and I all had fun with him. The judges were very impressed with him especially after his grooming. No stopping him!
Houston, TX November 12 & 13, 2005 No pictures again due to dead batteries. One of these days I will have it all together! Champion showed very well again but still not a winner. Next month! He got blue ribbons and winners reserve ribbons both days. He loves to strut around the ring and does great as long as there isn't something to sniff out! Even then, a quick reprimand and he is back on track! Heather is doing a great job showing him and learning the little tricks to showing well. Proud of you Heather! Zena, my friend's bull-mastiff,, won best of breed both days! Good Job Zena and Ann! Belton, TX October 22 & 23, 2005 Saturday, our handsome Champion, (AKC name, "Shorty's" Rusty Rocks EMS) did not win but showed very well. He really holds his head high and proudly struts his stuff. His muscles just ripple! Zena, Ann's bullmastiff won in her group both days but did not win in overall. She is a natural ! Sunday, Champion won in his first group but lost thereafter due to being cold and hungry. Next time... Great job, Ann, in showing him and training him for show. Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hutto, TX July 2 & 3, 2005 International Dog Show Blondie earned her National and International Championships over a 4 show weekend. She showed beautifully with Dad in the audience to see her final accomplishments! Ann and Heather did most of the showing. Ann's bullmastiff Zena also got her adult International Championship this weekend.
